Straight answers about AI-managed ad campaigns, billing, ad spend, and account setup.
No prior ad experience is needed. Promoto guides you through each step — from building your campaign draft to reviewing what the AI proposes before anything goes live. The AI Advisor recommends which networks fit your product best, and the nightly optimizer handles ongoing tuning automatically. Having a clear sense of your audience and what you want them to do (buy, sign up, contact you) is all you really need to get started.
Request a free campaign plan by telling us what you sell, your current ad spend, and the result you want. Our team reviews your offer, tracking, and best-fit ad network, then recommends Founding Managed or Growth Managed before you commit to anything. There's no obligation, and your ad accounts and ad spend stay under your control throughout.
Promoto charges a monthly management fee through Stripe. Your ad spend is billed directly by each ad network, such as Google, Meta, or LinkedIn, using the payment method you keep with that network. Promoto does not hold or mark up your ad budget.
Promoto supports Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, and Reddit Ads. Each network has its own minimum daily budget — LinkedIn requires at least $10 per day, Reddit requires $5 per day, and the others require $1 per day.
Yes. The Promoto homepage includes a free keyword-ideas tool. Enter a topic or paste a website URL to see estimated monthly search volumes for related terms. Visitors can run a few lookups without creating an account, and signed-in users on paid plans can run significantly more searches per day.
Yes. Promoto drafts LinkedIn campaigns with B2B audience targeting by job title, industry, company size, and seniority level. LinkedIn advertising requires a minimum daily budget of $10 and is available on Growth and Scale plans. If your LinkedIn account needs allowlisting before campaigns can go live, Promoto will alert you in-app and by email with the steps to complete.
Yes, on Growth and Scale plans. Reddit's most powerful targeting option is community (subreddit) selection — Promoto suggests 6 to 12 active subreddits where your target audience is genuinely present, which typically outperforms interest-only targeting on other networks. Reddit requires a minimum daily budget of $5 and is a good fit for developer tools, indie products, niche services, and anything with a strong community following.
Promoto currently offers two managed plans, both application-based rather than instant self-serve checkout: Founding Managed ($299 one-time setup + $249/mo) covers one product, one ad network, one active campaign, and up to $2,500/mo ad spend; Growth Managed ($499/mo) covers up to three products, two networks, five active campaigns, and up to $10,000/mo ad spend. Request a free campaign plan and our team confirms fit before you commit to anything. A free tier remains available for keyword research, tracking checks, and one campaign preview — but launching to live networks requires a managed plan.
Yes. You can connect your Microsoft Advertising account from the Connections page. Microsoft Ads reaches searchers on Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo, and follows the same planning, approval, and nightly optimization workflow as Google Ads. The minimum daily budget is $1 per day. Microsoft Ads management is available on Growth and Scale plans.
Yes. You can cancel from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and no further Promoto subscription charges are made after that.
When you cancel, your plan stays active through the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier — your campaign history and connected ad account links remain visible, but launching new campaigns requires an active paid plan. Any campaigns already live in your ad accounts continue running normally; Promoto does not pause or delete them on your behalf.
Promoto helps set up, monitor, and optimize paid ad campaigns using AI-assisted workflows. It is designed to reduce the manual work of campaign creation, targeting, creative review, search-term cleanup, and performance monitoring while still keeping the ad accounts connected to the customer.
Promoto includes an AI Advisor tool that evaluates your landing page and product description, then ranks Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and Microsoft Ads by fit for your specific offer. Each network receives a score, a verdict, and a suggested starting budget so you can make an informed decision before spending anything.
Yes. You should use your own ad accounts for the networks you want to advertise on. That keeps billing, ownership, approvals, and account history under your control.
Yes, on Growth and Scale plans. Each product gets its own onboarding profile, targeting guardrails, and campaigns. The Starter plan is designed for a single product.
Yes. Promoto scans your website for GA4, Google Ads tags, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, and Reddit Pixel and shows you which are detected and which are missing. If a tag is absent, the tool provides installation guidance so tracking is in place before your campaigns go live.
Yes. Promoto automatically audits your campaign destination URL before launch, scoring it from 0 to 100 on factors like page speed, headline clarity, call-to-action visibility, trust signals, and mobile compatibility. If the score is below 60, specific issues are flagged so you can fix them before spending money on clicks. You can re-run the audit at any time from the campaign detail page.
Yes. Each campaign has a downloadable plain-text version of its landing page audit — open the campaign, then use the "Download audit" link to get a file you can forward to a developer or paste into any tool. The file includes the score, every flagged issue, and the technical signals Promoto detected.
Yes. From the Tracking page, generate a private API key and send purchase, signup, lead, or registration events directly from your server or checkout system. These first-party conversions feed the same attribution Promoto's optimizer and reporting use, which helps when browser-based pixels miss events. You can revoke a key anytime without losing previously recorded events.
No ad platform can honestly guarantee specific results. Promoto helps with setup, monitoring, optimization, and cleanup, but performance depends on your offer, budget, market, creative, landing page, tracking quality, and ad network review decisions.
Yes. Promoto is designed around reviewable campaign drafts and guardrails so you can inspect what is being prepared before live ad spend is committed.
Yes. Every AI-drafted ad is automatically screened for the most common reasons networks reject ads — like unproven superlative claims ("#1", "best") and copy that references a different product or brand. Findings appear as warnings right on the campaign draft so you can fix them before launch. If a custom ad idea you generate comes back clearly off-brand, Promoto blocks it automatically until you rephrase.
Yes. When drafting a campaign you can set an optional end date. Promoto will automatically pause the campaign when that date arrives, so your budget stops exactly when you plan. You can also pause or stop any campaign manually from the dashboard at any time.
Yes. When drafting a Meta campaign, Promoto presents a theme picker with options like curiosity gap, pain empathy, social proof, transformation story, and more. Each theme you select generates a separate ad variant written to that angle and paired with a matching image. Meta automatically concentrates spend on whichever variant performs best, so picking a range of themes up front is a good way to discover what resonates with your audience.
Yes. When you draft a Meta campaign, Promoto automatically generates a matching ad image for each creative variant based on your chosen theme and product description. You can review all images in the campaign draft before approving, and regenerate any image if you want a different look. Images are produced using AI image generation and are included in the draft at no extra cost.
Yes. Promoto monitors your Google Ads search terms and automatically applies negative keywords when irrelevant or low-quality queries are found. You can review every automated action in the Auto-Negatives dashboard and undo individual changes — or undo an entire batch from the email notification — if anything looks wrong.
Yes. For live Meta campaigns, Promoto collects comments left on your ad posts and shows them in a Comments tab on the campaign page. Each comment is automatically tagged as a pre-sales question, positive, neutral, negative, or spam so you can prioritise replies. You can mark comments as handled to track what has been addressed, and refresh the list at any time to pull in the latest.
Yes. Live or paused Meta campaigns have an "Edit live targeting" panel on the campaign page where you can adjust age range, gender, devices, countries, and placements — the change is applied directly to your live Meta ad set. Because Meta may restart that ad set's learning phase after a targeting change, you'll be asked to confirm before it takes effect.
Yes. When a search term in your Google campaign consistently drives conversions at or below your cost target, Promoto flags it as a keyword candidate. By default you review each proposal before anything is added, but you can switch to auto-approve — Promoto adds it immediately and emails you — or turn the feature off entirely. Adjust this in the AI Behavior panel on your dashboard.
Yes, on Growth and Scale plans. Promoto generates challenger ad variations and rotates them against your current creatives. For lead campaigns, winner and loser decisions are based on cost-per-conversion. For sales campaigns, Promoto ranks variants by total attributed revenue when purchase-value data is available (so a variant with fewer, higher-priced sales can beat one with more low-value sales), falling back to cost-per-conversion otherwise. Variants must reach a minimum impression threshold before being judged, and a Bayesian confidence check ensures the difference is statistically reliable before any ad is paused. Under-performing variants are replaced one-for-one — healthy ads are never paused just to hit a target count.
Yes. Every campaign page has a "Creative locked" toggle. Turning it on stops Promoto from automatically pausing, replacing, or generating new ad creative for that campaign, while metrics and the safety-net pause check keep running as normal. Turn it back off anytime to resume automatic creative optimization.
Ad networks make their own approval decisions. If an ad is rejected, Promoto can help identify the issue, adjust copy or targeting where appropriate, and prepare a revised version for review.
Yes. Promoto generates a plain-English daily summary of your campaign performance, covering yesterday's spend, clicks, conversions, and impressions alongside a seven-day trend. The report is written by AI so it highlights what changed and why, rather than just presenting raw numbers.
Every night, Promoto reviews your live campaigns for wasteful keywords, low-performing ads, and off-topic search terms burning through your budget. It applies safe, reversible changes automatically — such as pausing poor keywords or adding negative keywords — and logs every action in your campaign decisions feed. You can undo any individual change from the dashboard, or reverse an entire batch with one click from the nightly notification email.
Yes — as a safety net, Promoto runs a daily check on live sales campaigns and automatically pauses one if revenue over the last 7 days (excluding the most recent 2 days, to avoid attribution lag) comes in below half of spend. If your product is a subscription, sign-ups are valued at their expected lifetime worth for this check (not just the first payment), so a profitable subscription campaign is not paused too early. You get an immediate email explaining why. Lead and traffic campaigns are excluded, since they are not expected to show revenue directly.
For sales campaigns, Promoto values each subscription sign-up at its expected lifetime worth rather than just the first payment — monthly plans default to 12x the first charge, one-time orders count at face value. This lifetime value is what the automatic safety pause, weekly budget advisor, and budget scale-up recommendations use to judge performance. You can fine-tune the multiplier for any sales campaign from the campaign detail page, or leave it blank for the automatic default. Your dashboard revenue charts always show actual cash collected, unaffected by this setting.
Yes. Each live campaign has a Performance Automation panel where you can set a target cost per purchase or a target return on ad spend (ROAS). When your campaign exceeds the threshold — spending too much relative to results — Promoto can automatically pause it or reduce the daily budget. When it beats the target, Promoto can increase the budget to capitalise on the momentum. You receive an email notification for every automated action, and you can undo any change from the campaign detail page.
Every Monday Promoto sends a single digest email covering all your active campaigns: recent spend, revenue or sign-ups, profit (or cost-per-lead), and a plain-English raise, hold, or cut suggestion — reserved for when the evidence clears a 95% confidence bar over a mature two-week window; otherwise Promoto says hold rather than guess. The email is on by default for confirmed paid-plan users. To mute it for a specific campaign, toggle "Mute weekly email for this campaign" on that campaign's detail page, or opt out of all advisor emails from your account settings.
If a subscription payment fails, Promoto retries billing and gives you a 7-day grace period during which your plan keeps working normally. If payment still hasn't succeeded after the grace period, your account reverts to the Free plan — your campaign history and connections stay intact, but launching new campaigns requires an active paid plan. After 30 days without a successful payment, associated data is deactivated.
Yes, for lead-generation campaigns run through Meta Lead Ads, Promoto captures and stores the submitted leads so you can view, filter, and export them from the Leads dashboard. You can also configure automatic forwarding: set a forwarding URL and a shared secret on any campaign, and Promoto will POST each new lead to your endpoint in real time. Forwarding status (delivered, failed, or pending) is shown in the leads view.
Once your campaign has enough data, Promoto benchmarks your cost-per-lead, cost-per-sale, and click-through rate against published industry averages for your category (sourced from annual ad-industry reports). The comparison appears as a note on each campaign card in your dashboard — for example, "18% below average CPL" or "CTR 23% above average" — so you can quickly see whether your results are strong, typical, or worth investigating. These numbers are a reference point, not a guarantee.
Yes. Promoto operates in its own campaign set within your linked ad accounts and does not modify, pause, or touch any campaigns you created outside of Promoto. Your existing campaigns continue to run exactly as before. The nightly optimizer, auto-negative keywords, and challenger rotation only apply to campaigns launched through Promoto.
Yes. Promoto's free learning library at /learn includes step-by-step how-to articles on Google Ads, Meta advertising, LinkedIn campaigns, keyword research, and optimization best practices. The articles are available without an account — browse by topic or use the search to find setup guides and tips relevant to your situation.
Yes. Signed-in users can submit a review at promoto.io/review — just log in and share your experience in a few sentences. Once approved, your review appears publicly on the reviews page where prospective customers can read about real results.
Yes. Each Google campaign has a Keywords tab where you can view all active keywords, adjust individual or multiple bids, change match types, pause or enable keywords, add new keywords, and remove ones you don\'t want. Changes take effect in your Google Ads account within a few minutes. The nightly AI optimizer also monitors keywords automatically, but the Keywords tab gives you direct control whenever you want to make specific adjustments.
Yes. On any campaign page, use "Turn this image into a video" for a one-click looping video ad — no need to open the full Video Ad Studio. It costs 1 video credit, renders in a couple of minutes, and is added automatically alongside your image ad if the campaign is live. Not happy with it? Use "Revert to image" on that variant to go back at any time.
Yes. The Video Ad Studio lets you generate AI video ads directly from any campaign. Choose from three formats: a Motion Poster that animates your existing campaign image, a Cinematic Scene with AI-generated outcome footage and captions, or an AI Spokesperson that delivers your script on camera. Promoto renders the video in the background (usually a couple of minutes), then you preview and approve before anything goes live.
Each plan includes a monthly video credit allotment: Free plan (1 credit), Starter (8 credits), Growth (30 credits), Scale (100 credits). Credits are consumed per render — a Motion Poster costs 1 credit, an AI Spokesperson costs 2 credits, and a Cinematic Scene costs 4 credits. Credits refresh at the start of each billing month. A rendered video still requires an active paid plan to go live as an ad.
Yes. Google and Microsoft Search campaigns have a CPC ceiling field on the campaign detail page. Enter a maximum cost per click and Promoto caps every keyword bid at that amount — useful for protecting your budget on competitive terms without micromanaging individual keywords. You can update or remove the ceiling at any time, and the change takes effect in your ad account within a few minutes.
No — video credits refresh to your plan's monthly allotment at the start of each billing cycle and any unused credits from the prior month are replaced. The allotments are: Free (1 credit), Starter (8), Growth (30), Scale (100). Each render costs 1 credit (Motion Poster), 2 credits (AI Spokesperson), or 4 credits (Cinematic Scene), so it is worth planning your video ads before the month ends.
Most businesses qualify, but every product is screened against ad-network policy when you onboard, and periodically re-checked afterward in case your offering changes. A small set of categories the ad networks prohibit outright (like prescription or compounded medications, or peptides marketed for human use) can't be marketed through Promoto at all; regulated categories such as pharmacy/telehealth, supplements, alcohol, gambling, or financial services need a human review — and sometimes proof of certification — before campaigns can launch. If your product is flagged and you believe it's a mistake, contact support and a human will take a look.
